October’s gonna rock

And you ask me why I love doing a PhD… Yes yes, doing valuable research, self-development, but also: fun! Let me tell you about what’s going to happen in October, just to illustrate the fun part.

10 and 11 October I’ll be attending the Nutritional Science Days, just to sit back and listen to the research development of other young nutritional scientists. I’m looking forward to it, as it appears to be very interesting and pleasant, but probably not as pleasant as…..

… the Human Nutrition PhD Tour! It’s a two week trip full of symposia and workshops at various universities, institutes and companies, and this year it’s in Australia!! We’re leaving 12 October, and after two weeks I’ll come back again, hopefully with a lot of great experiences. Then, I have to survive my jetlag, as the day after I come back…

… it’s time to end October in style with a Master Class on how to evaluate interventions in public health practice! Although it’s possible I fall asleep during the day, I arranged some backup by asking my colleagues to take careful notes so I can read them later when necessary… Still, I don’t want to complain. I mean, come on. I’m going to Australia! Just in case you missed it the first time :-)
